Frequently Asked Questions

What is a treetop walkway?

A treetop walkway is an elevated pathway that allows visitors to explore the forest canopy from above. At West Coast Treetops, the Hokitika Tower Walk reaches 47 metres above the forest floor and provides views across the surrounding landscape, including the Tasman Sea and Southern Alps.

A zipline is a cable-based adventure activity where riders travel along a suspended cable while secured in a harness. At West Coast Treetops, the dual zipline is 425 metres long and reaches speeds of more than 60 km/h.

Both our treetop walkways and ziplines are constructed using durable, high-quality materials and sound engineering practices. They feature numerous safety measures, including enclosed walkways, to ensure a safe yet thrilling adventure of a lifetime. Additionally, we are Adventure Mark Tick audited and Qualmark Gold audited, further demonstrating our commitment to safety and quality.
